This document introduces two approaches to using the mind: focusing on points of view or sustaining awareness. It argues that sustaining awareness for brief moments, repeated many times, allows one to experience wisdom, ease, and compassion. Over time, awareness can become permanent and automatic. Points of view are seen as dynamic energy that arise and pass away within awareness, which remains as the constant background. The document recommends sustaining awareness even as points of view form, in order to directly experience freedom from ups and downs and gain confidence in awareness.
